I know, people putting their property on their land.
Who would think that would be acceptable????
It's so tacky.
Next you'll complain that their car is in their driveway, then their house on their land...

A boat does not take up the same space as a car. Can most of these boats fit in a garage? doubt it.
And your argument about living on Long Island makes no sense. I know exactly one person who owns a boat. By your logic, any one living along the US coastline or near a lake should be a boat lover.
 - that's especially for you.

What does that mean? With that thinking why put the boat in the driveway....just put it across the front lawn...hey its your property ... right? Driveways are for cars not for storing huge boats on cinder blocks. Boats in driveways are tacky and make towns look trashy. I hate people that think they could put anything or do anything because it's their property with absolutely no regards to their neighbors.

All the thugs and hooligans I know own boats.
I agree, putting a boat in your driveway does make it look trashy.
Does the boat somehow come over onto your property in the middle of the night and leave surprises on your lawn? Does it try to break into your house? Keep you up at night? What is it that really bothers you THAT much about boats? What do your neighbors really need to worry about you for by putting a boat on their property? It's just a boat, it's not like some secret werewolf/boat hybrid that comes and destroys your property on a full moon.

My boat takes up the same space as many cars, and even less space than some. Maybe you should read up on boats before posting nonsense.

I'm not saying everyone should be a boat lover, but if you live on an island, especially one known for fishing, there's a good chance you will see quite a few boats. Difficult concept to grasp, isn't it?

Maybe if you do that to yourself a few more times you'll initiate some activity up there.

Only trash store their boats in their driveways. If you can't afford to drydock it in a marina for the winter..then don't own a boat.
Sort of like those who park an old car without registration in their driveway...holding it for "parts". Nothing worse than those backyard mechanics.

nothing worse than people sticking their nose in places where it doesn't belong.

Seeing boats in driveways doesn't bother me at all, in fact, it adds to the atmosphere of the nautical flavored neighborhoods that I prefer. To each their own I suppose.

"But ossifer, it's MY boat. It's not as nice as YOUR boat, with your $140,362,943,682 a year salary built on my poor, overtaxed--oh, wait, I live in my parents' basement, so no property tax, but still--slaving, undercompensated, overworked--oh, wait, I'm messing around on C-D all day with my 43rd screen name because I've been banned 42 times already, so scratch the overworked part--but still, it's MY boat! Or, erm, my parents' boat."
