I know some of the people on the show personally; Bunny Hoest, Len from L&L, Freddie Sforza the shoemaker, etc., - Huntington is my home town - a very nostalgic special to me, and it brought back many memories.
Overall a very well done production. And very picturesque.
For people who are interested in moving into the area and who are trying to differentiate between, say Dix Hills and Cold Spring Harbor for instance, well, Dix Hills wasn't mentioned once in the entire broadcast. But plenty was covered about CSH with all of its ambience and charm. It's hard to say Dix Hills has ambience and charm, although I'm sure there are some out there who would disagree.
That was great. Freddy was our shoemaker, Al was our dentist, went to HS with the Knutson kids, Jack Abrams was my principal, been to Finnegan's and Hamburger Choo-Choo (went there for nursery school graduation LOL) and my dad always bought his suits at Marsh's.
The only thing missing was Toy Town with the polka dot wrapping paper.
