My Mother-in- law is in her mid 80's and lives with family in a mobile home park in Dom Hills.
She would really benefit from the activities of a senior center but from what I understand no such services are offered where she lives. So, I was wondering if there is a volunteer program whereby she could have transportation to a neighboring town with a senior center. She was very active with the seniors where she lived before she moved and being active again would really help her a great deal.

The city of Carson has a large community center with many activities & classes for seniors. The community center is located behind city hall at the intersection of Avalon Blvd. & Carson St.

This is exactly the kind of facility my MIL needs. I will call there tomorrow. In the meantime, is there a portion of these programs that provide transportation outside the city limits of Carson. In the past we've been told that Domingues Hills residents are not within the Carson city limits and as such are not eligible for services.

I am assuming she lives in the Mobil home park east of Wilmington Ave. If so the closer bus stop for her would be at Wilmington Ave. & Cashdan, it is in front of the tennis courts at Anderson Park.

I don't believe she would need to see ID. Contact the city for the bus route/schedule and fare, last I remember it was .50c & .25c for seniors.

My mother used to take it from that stop to the Carson Mall.
