Default Need info on hotel in Carson, please.

My aunt, who is about 70 years old, is planning to stay at the Doubletree Hotel in Carson. I don't think that's the best area for an older woman traveling alone, but does anyone live around there who can give her better options? Maybe a hotel in Torrance? Any assistance would be most appreciated!

the hilton in torrance could work: Hilton Torrance - South Bay Chat

or if you're willing to drive, the portofino in reondo is very nice: The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club - South Bay Chat

either way, i think you'd be better off not getting a carson hotel

The Staybridge Suites in Torrance is another alternative to staying at a hotel in Carson. One of the "boutique hotels" (the Shade Hotel or the Belamar Hotel) in Manhattan Beach is also an excellent choice if traveling a few miles and spending a little more money isn't a big concern.

Cheers,

Jonah K

if money is a non-issue, you should consider the beach house hotel in hermosa beach too

Thanks to both of you! :-) Unfortunately, money is an issue for her, so I didn't give her the high-end recommendations, but hopefully The Hilton or one of the others will work for her. I really appreciate the input!

there is also Hotel Hermosa - which is in a high-end area (hermosa beach) but at a low-end price (as low as $80/night i think) here is some more info... Need hotel/motel advice near here - South Bay Chat

Personally, I woudn't be concerned about the Doubletree in Carson -- it's right on 405, in a busy area... but maybe I'm missing something.

Carson's crime rates really aren't that bad, there are actually some very nice, newer developments in the city.
