This is true and EXPENSIVE!! However, the last I heard, you can get validated parking @ the restaurant. I've never actually had to pay for parking. I don't see how anyone couls really get there without a car, though

Zuma is one of the best beaches in the county, one which I surf quite often. Active are definitely the weekends and holidays. One word of caution is to watch out for the rips, they are pretty heavy and if you are not a strong swimmer be sure to exercise caution. Other then that, there is tons of wildlife out there, dolphins, seals, sealions, etc. Come in the morning if you want to find easy parking on PCH.

Every time I look up pictures or on Google Maps, it seems empty. I'm just looking to have a good fun day at the beach.

You don't want it to be TOO crowded - you won't be able to find a parking spot to save your life. We went to Zuma Beach on a summer Saturday one time and drove around almost an hour looking for a place to park. We ended up leaving - what a waste of time! L.A. beaches are MUCH more crowded than Florida beaches (I've been all over FL and prefer the beaches there).

The key is to make it early enough in the morning to get a spot. The few times I've gone in the late morning/afternoon I've been lucky enough to find PCH parking- but I wouldn't count on it during peak season.
