How do you drink water?
Do you drink tap water directly?
Or do you buy a boiler to boil it?
Or do you buy a filter to make water drinkable?
What is your recommendation?

Thank you.

Tap is fine.
Yes.
No.
There's a filter on the fridge which I change regularly.

My recommendation is don't waste your money on bottled water. It costs more than gasoline.

i agree with charles, i've been drinking LA tap water for years. bottled water is a scam. If you are that concerned get a Pur or Brita filter, but they really aren't needed. I used to work for a contractor that worked on DWP's filtration plants and they are top notch. They don't even use chlorine any more to filter the water, so no more terrible taste.

Ridiculous statement. Bottled water is no more than 80 cents a gallon. Gas is what, $3 a gallon.

Or do you buy a boiler to boil it? Buy a boiler? I have a stove, but I don't boil my water before I drink it. This ain't Mexico, although it seems like it is at times.

Or do you buy a filter to make water drinkable? I don't like the taste of the tap water, so I flavor it in various ways. I'm too cheap to invest in filters.

What is your recommendation? Do whatever suits your situation.

Thank you. You're welcome.

The water is, of-course, safe to drink though the taste isn't that great. I think part of the reason is that the bulk of southern California's water comes from the Colorado river [though I could be wrong about this]. Bottled water does taste better in my opinion. For example the Sparkletts artesian well water in Los Angeles has high quality taste appeal. But many people in LA don't stop to realize that water\ ice provided in all restaurants is out of the tap unless one requests bottled water and no one seems to complain.

It's funny, I was actually thinking of starting a thread just like this a few days ago.....but didn't.

Yeah I drink tap water a lot, mostly because I get lazy and don't feel like always buying the bottled stuff.

Guess I'm an idiot, 'cause I only drink bottled water... my preference Arrowhead... Dasani is okay in a pinch... and Evian when I feel like splurging.

Where I live in Santa Clarita, the water is hard, so the taste is atrocious and I have a soft water system in my house... it's not drinkable. When my dog was alive, he drank bottled water, too.
