Hi all! Can anyone tell me how to take the train or any public LAND/SEA transportation from downtown Long Beach to San Diego?!? I've heard that it CAN be done but no one is exactly sure how.

Amtrak leaves downtown Los Angeles to San Diego, but not through Long Beach.

There are buses - search for the Orange County and San Diego transit web sites to find the bus lines and routes. You'd probably change buses about 3-4 times. I think an OC line goes all the way from Long Beach to San Clemente.

Takes more than an hour that's for sure. Amtrak surfliner/metrolink to Irvine and an OCTA bus from there would probably work

From Long Beach to San Diego:
1. Take Long Beach Passport Bus from Downtown to Cal State Long Beach.
2. At Cal State Long Beach Take OCTA Bus #50 from CSULB toward Orange.
3. Get off at Anaheim Metrolink/Amtrak Station
4. Board Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Train to San Diego.
-Takes 2 buses and 1 train. About 1 hour on buses including connection time. Please refer to timetables.
