Hello all!

I am just trying to find information about getting roommates in LA and what to expect. I have performed a search what has been some-what useful.

Anyone have any advice and tips about how to find roommates (for instance, craigslist) and how to approach the situation? Also, how to survive with roommates would be help too (I've never had them before).

I am a 26/male, looking to live in the Hollywood area. I've lived in LA before so I am familiar with it already. I used to work in the financial industry but because of the recent downturn in the economy and my own awakening I've decided to focus on music production (my true passion). I already have a few projects I will be working on in LA and OC. I am planning on going to one of the music schools later this year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate, thank you!

You can try roommates.com, but you have to pay to contact people. What you can do is leave your email in your profile and let others contact you and then pay for the days you want to use if need be.

Yep, currently doing it right now. My current landlord actually contacted me through my profile on roommates.com (you can set a profile up for free and do some browsing, but to get maps/directions and to contact people you have to pay).

Once I get back from Stanford (doing the summer program), though, I'm probably going to start looking for a place with my boyfriend. My room is great for just me, but it would be too cramped for two people.

Good luck with your search!
