Is it possible to find rentals without having employment? For instance in the case where people have just moved to the city from another area for personal reasons or have returned from a break spending time abroad. Generally, if one has the cash to pay a few months of rent in advance, say 3-4 months, should it be fairly easy to obtain a place?

I would imagine not all people who move to the LA area have jobs lined up...

My daughter and her bf were approved on their credit scores and the fact that they had money being deposited into their checking accounts (from parens) while in college. Even though they didn't have jobs yet they didn't need a cosigner, which was great for me! Just first months rent and a deposit, which was low because it was based on their good credit score. Don't underestimate the power of FICO.
