Just wanted to give you a heads up that Los Angeles will be one of the few counties participating in a new law that requires anyone with a DUI conviction to install an ignition interlock. I know this is going to affect a lot of LA drivers. Just wanted to say be safe this weekend and onwards while you drive.

If you want more information, I recommend going to the Smart Start of California website. It has tons of info about CA laws and interlock technology.

I remember hearing about this.

I won't have to worry about it, since I don't drink. But, I'll be sure to inform my sister and brother-in-law about it. They both have had DUIs.

That doesn't sound right. WI just got this, but here you're grandfathered in if you already have been convicted of the DUI, only new offenses get it.

I think that may be what the OP meant? And also, Wisconsin JUST made it mandatory that you have to have insurance as of June 2010. Different states, different laws.
