OMG!!!!!!!! I am going to ask DH to bring this on his way home from work one of these days. Thanks for the tip. This is weird because I always joke with my DH that maybe the pizza tastes different because of the water.

Same with bagels.

How about Larchmont Village Pizzaria? The meatball sub is really tasty as is the standard cheese and pepperoni pizza's. It's definitely worth a visit.

I dont know of any pizza places in hollywood, but ive found 3 that are pretty good:

NY Pizza in Westwood on Gayley ave, a few doors down from whole foods.

San Genero's in Brentwood on Barrington Place. This is a nice restaurant too.

Place in Manhattan beach, right by the Pier. I have to admit, I have not had their pizza sober, due to the adjoining bars on that block, but it was delicious every time I've eaten their.

I garew up in Chicago, and there is absolutely no comparison for pizza's in CA. As far as delivery pizza's, I'd choose Papa John's. There's also a place here in town called Deli News - there's no delivery, but it's better than Dominos (ugh) or for that matter Papa John's. California Pizza Kitchen, like a poster mentioned, is by far the best. I think I'll book a flight to Chicago just to eat pizza

I love this thread! Thank you, everyone, for all of the suggestions. I've never had a pizza Chicago style, so I think I might try one of these places. However, I can say that I think Domino's tastes like cardboard with tomato sauce and cheese!

Thank you for the spirit of cooperation, everyone. This is City-Data at its best.

I am so happy to have started such an exciting thread--everybody loves pizza ( : I will definatly check out most of the above spots mentioned! Also-I tried 'stefanos' pizza on hollywood blvd by the highland shopping center--and it was pretty good! And I know a fellow Philadelphian would not be happy with this- but I had a steak at the great steak and potato company-and it wasn't bad! not philly-but not bad ( :
Thanks again for all of the tips!

Deli News rocks. But try Nick's on Harbor at Wilson in Costa Mesa (I know, it's not L.A.) or Haus of Pizza a little further up Harbor toward the 405.
