The "bad LA sports fan" myth is just that -- a myth. Look at the freaking Dodgers. They've had 3 million+ fans every year for as long as I can remember, even though for the past couple of decades they've been completely mediocre.

Fans yes. True They have them. But it is true what they say about them arriving in the third and leaving by the 7th.

There a little problem I don't think the NFL and CFL are merging anytime soon.

The Raiders were actually pretty good while they played in LA. In 13 seasons 8 of them were winning seasons, 2 were .500 and 3 were losing. That's pretty damn good compared to most NFL teams (this is coming from a guy who HATES the Raiders. I give credit where credit is due) So why was attendance so bad? I think it had more to do with the stadium than the team itself. The Colosseum sucks for football, always has, always will. If you build it, they will come. Look at what happened in Phoenix, home of the biggest fair weather fans in the USA. The Cardinals had the worst attendance in the league playing in that uncovered heat magnet, they move to a brand new state of the art stadium without upgrading the team = instant sell outs.

What!?!?!
As much as it pains me to say this,
I hope Oakland loses interest in the Raiders so they can come back to LA. They'll still have the Niners.

LA may end up with both the Raiders and the 49ers.
Both are making noises about leaving the Bay Area.
While we have slightly fewer that prefer futbol over football, we have an increasing number who prefer cricket or basketball over both (I'll let you guess the countries of origin). And our NIMBYism is even worse than LA's. Therefore, no new stadiums and bye bye teams.

don't listen to the misinformed idiots on here LA is getting a team. there has been a stadium proposed and its going through enviormental extemption so it can get built faster. The chargers couldnt get Chula vista and OCEANSIDe is looking iffy so well see in 2011 when there lease is up. LA might get the rams again or even the chargers and the stadium will be in the city of industry.
Los Angeles Stadium
its already happening.

I have to admit, this location (at 60 and 57 freeways), is quite good to allow for the entire metro reasonable access. If they can get some sort of substantial groundbreaking, then I think a relocation would soon follow. Or perhaps, they would need a commitment before construction. Who knows? Jacksonville, New Orleans, Minnesota, and even San Diego have been mentioned. Oakland, yes, a longshot as well.
