How bad is Willowbrook? (Compton, Lynwood: crime, homes, neighborhood)

I have family in Willowbrook (the neighborhood bordering the North of Compton) who have invited me to visit them; but I am well aware of that region of South L.A. (however, I haven't been there before).

Can anyone tell me what is Willowbrook like and how bad is it?

Also, any advice would be appreciated.

Danger is relative, but Willowbrook is not safe in general and surrounded by some wicked gang areas. ES/WS Wilmas

U never been to Willowbrook! Man! Well i do live here in Willowbrook its very dangerous! If your black you can get shoot or even if your mexican you can get shoot. Mostly if your white then your chances of getting shoot increases 3times! Also if you do ever viste WB you better watch who is behind u, or who is around u. Never take allies that you are not allowed in or at dark! If you see mexicans or blaks u don no that are walking up to u then u better start running! Im telling you! I lived here all my life! Im still young in gangs! I have seen what gangs can do to pepole well not just pepole but anyone! Its just that I had family who did the same thing as u. Just coming by to say hi from Texas. Then my young cousin Jaymito (14) got shot because he crossed E 130 st. which is where most of the blaks live. Man i would never like to see a family go through when i lost my lil cousin from out of state who was just walking to the store with my other older cousin Jonna (17 living)! I also blame myself for being a gang bangger. Your never to careful here, being careful is your tool here unles u have a knife or gun with u! Anything can happen! Best advise is just hang with your raza (race) then you are more likely to live. Here there is about 2-9 drive bys a week, 4-12 stabbings a week. baby boy is trippin!!!! dont know if he is a real kid or some fictional character here, but Willowbrook is not that bad. it is bounded by CPT, WATTs, LYNWOOD, but it is the nicer of these areas. the streets just south of the hospital are all nice. nice homes, nice yards, old people. Shootings and such are not that common. other parts, closre to CPT, well that has its own rep. i think you will be fine in Willow Brook. if you have any specific crime related questions call the Sherrif. If you are too embarassed to ask your fam about the neighborhood, ask them other questions.

where they go out to?
the nearest restaurant?
whats there to do around the neighbor hood.
nearest church?
do they take the dog for a walk?
how late do they stay out?

Willowbrook is between Watts and Compton, but I find it to be very pleasant. The part I was in anyways, I think it was 123rd street. The homes are well kept and the streets are not narrow.

I don't mean to barge into your personal life and be your mother, but you should seriously consider leaving a gang. Move to Kansas or something. It is not worth risking your life and consider the harm that gangs bring to a community. Learn acceptance and tolerance. If living in So Cal means never escaping a gang for you, then move far away. Austin has nice homes in the suburbs for $250k and that is a lot less than some $400k 800 sq. ft dump in a community of violence here in So Cal. I'm curious, what reason do you and your family have to stay, that is if you really are a gang member?
