As George Bush senior said once, "Read my lips", I am saying the same.
Watch what happens in this case concerning this hypocritical witch.
If this were happening any other time than so close to the november elections, perhaps the charges would not have come about.
The opposition party is using all their options in an effort to regain leadership in congress.
Couple their efforts along with the state of the union presently, and it doesn't look good for the party in office now.
Ethics, or in this case, the lack of them has risen it's ugly head to the forefront of the political theater, and just as in any other political confrontation, there will be loosers, and winners.
If Waters plays the race card, as I fully expect she will, it will be the end of her career in Washington.
Bob.
The race card has already been played. Because both Waters and Rangle are key members of the Democratic Black Caucus, the card has already been turned over.

Given the opportunity, both will be re-elected. No question about it. Waters won't have an issue skirting her charge. Was it an ethics violation, absolutely. I don't care how she tries to paint the picture. Is it enough to kick her out, no way.

Rangle is a whole different story. He's broken laws. Not just a question about ethics. Sadly, he'll be there until he decides to leave.

What's gives me a rash is that this is Palosi's, non-partisan committee bringing the charges. Yet the it's the "racist, radical right (eg. anyone is is not a Democrat)" who is responsible for the Waters & Rangle situation.

And Obama will blame it on Bush!

I don't think Waters and Rangel will play the race card especially since they are Democrats and their own party is in power. If they are guilty of breaking ethic rules [which it clearly appears they have violated] then they must face the consequence of being censured or resign. Rangel is 80 yrs old and Waters is 72; they have both been in congress many many years and now need to do what is right. If they don't than Waters and Rangel will be publicly mocked and the media will hound them until they leave.

Californio sur, in an ethical world, that's what would happen. However, we don't live in a world where ANYONE says, "You know what, I messed up and I'm sorry. I take responsibility for what I did and what I did didn't benefit my constituents, it only benefited me. So, I'll step down."

I won't see, read, hear that from any politician, Democrat, Republican or Otherwise in my lifetime. I hate to say it and I'm plagiarizing but- "A pessimist is never disappointed."

That's sad but you are probably right If Waters is guilty of unethical behavior than she should be forced out of congress. I heard that Rangel has already lost his chairmanship position and that the pressure is on to make him resign. The same thing should happen with Waters unless she is miraculously innocent of the charges against her. I even heard a Republican adviser say that the GOP senator from Nevada needs to resign for his unethical conduct [having an affair with his best friend's wife and than paying them off to keep their mouths shut]. I hope these representatives do the right thing but if they don't than they will need to be persuaded with voter outrage.

Of course the race card is going to be the issue, especially when both of them are minorities. For everyone's sake I hope they both step down, but it is very unlikely and yes, I think she will get the support of her district.
