I am starting my initial search for places in the Marina Del Rey/Playa Del Rey area for a move in January. We have hopes of living as close to the water as possible. As I have been looking through CL/Westside/ETC... I am finding that a majority of places that allow pets limit the number to two. I had intended on getting a dog upon move in but that's looking to be less practical. We are hoping to stay in the 2k-2.5k a month.

Has anyone gone through a similar issue in the neighborhood?

Is there a more lenient beach community?

Should I just shoot one of the cats?(kidding)

just don't tell the landlord about your pets. i live in mdr in one of the large complexes where they charge $50 pet rent (for cat or dog) because of dog facilties that are kept on the property. my wife and i have a cat and think that the charge is BS, so we didn't tell the management company about her. there are so many units in our complex that there is no way for the them to find out either unless someone goes snooping into the windows of every unit, but that creates a much bigger problem to worry about. you could also try to look for smaller building that are owned by individuals and not large companies, i'm sure there would be more flexibility if you go that route.
