the address on that is wrong (Google maps can't find it) so I can't tell you whether it's in a particularly good or bad part of El Monte. good luck though.

El Monte is part of East Los Angeles and also is within the San Gabriel Valley.
Look in the wikipedia,it will tell you eveything
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Los_Angeles_(region
There is a college in Monterey Park,it is called East L.A. College
You can probably call the college. There should be a student networking place where you want to ask all this question where the young people go.ask them anything.I suggest you go to the college and find out. good luck!

i grew up in el monte and still live there. please always call it ghetto and think its incredibly unsafe but i think that's overly untrue. this is not the kind of town to be taking a night stroll or anything but i have never been harmed in broad daylight other than catcalls and verbal harassments. also i think the north el monte area is better than south.

El Monte is no where near East Los Angeles. Where did you get your info from? E.L.A is more than 15 miles from El Monte and the College in the area is Rio Hondo.

I lived in south El Monte since 1996 and I loved it! The crime can be a bit bad. It's a large hispanic and asian community made of three parts El Monte, North El Monte and South El Monte. North El Monte which is North of Longo Toyota is nice and also much more expensive. South El Monte is close to all major freeways, I loved it there. This leaves the El Monte area last, not to great. For a while El Monte was one of the safest cities, but lately crime has been going up. I left s. El Monte last year sold my house and made some good cash. Moved to Houston, Tx paid my house cash and its 3x's the size for a quarter of the price of a house in the San Gabriel Valley.
