Hi,
I am relocating to Los Angeles with my 2 year old daughter and husband who will work in Beverly Hills.
I will work from home so my commute is not an issue, but ideally we don't want a long commute for my husband.

I would like to find a rental apartment or a townhouse that is close to our daughter's daycare/preschool... but haven't found a good school yet.

Can anyone help me
1) find a good daycare (focus on education via art craft and music and preferably an organic/natural/farm focus towards food) hopefully in or very close to Beverly Hills and
2) a good neighborhood for a child and a growing family.

Also, if it helps we are relocating from downtown chicago where we had/have a good mix of city pace as well as a very child friendly enviroment.

Thank you for your help!

Have you checked to see if they have openings yet? If not, I'd do that first; when we looked for daycare in LA I was shocked at just how long the wait lists were for most places. We ended up finding a place in a home-based daycare run by a former preschool teacher (not in your part of town, though); we preferred that situation, anyway, but the home-based option ended up being our only real choice because the formal schools and centers all had very, very long waiting lists.

If these do all have spots, you may want to jump on one fast. I don't have any experience with any of them, so can't help you that way. Any chance you'll be out here visiting before your move and can visit them in person in advance?

Had not called any of them yet. But I should get to it ASAP.
And yes, we are planning to visit in Sept for an Oct start date.
Thanks for writing.
