The timing in that downtown pic looks like it was taken on one of those classic L.A. marine layer days. I don't ever recall the smog alone being that chokingly thick, and I date back to the fifties.

The Wilshire Grand Hotel looked so prominent downtown back then too. Now it's hidden and slated for demolition... soon to be replaced with a 1,000+ ft tower and a 600+ ft tower. Times are a changing.

Dude that is awesome. I remember the 1st Interstate Bank building, Security Pacific building. No Bonaventure or Library Building.
