Hello! My mom is travelling to Los Angeles for a conference about healing.
She is interested in energies and enlightenment and living simply.
Are there any "New Age" attractions that she might enjoy?
Perhaps a garden, or just a spot that has "good vibes"
Or a New Age district? Or a good vegetarian restaurant?
Or a healing circle, reiki, healing touch, event or somthing like that?
Thanks in advance for all your help! I really appreciate it.

The Self-Realization Fellowship Shrine has got to be on the itinerary.

the little town of topanga fits the bill, but i'm not sure of any tourist activities besides maybe grabbing a bite to eat at the inn of the seventh ray and look around at the few shops in town. venice also comes to mind, but is usually swamped with tourists.

LASam's recommendation of The Self-Realization Fellowship Shrine is a no-brainer.

I'm about as non-spiritual as one can get but even I know about these icons:

Bodhi Tree Bookstore: Bodhi Tree
Uh oh, looks like they are going out of business after 40 years.

Alexandria II Bookstore in Pasadena: Alexandria II

Vision Magazine has *tons* of info/event listings. Pick up for free or read online: Vision Magazine

Lots of people like to relax at L.A.'s many Buddhist Temples, botanical gardens (Huntington Library & Gardens, L.A. County Arboretum in Arcadia, Descanso Gardens, Getty Center grounds, Fern Dell in Griffith Park). Our many beaches (catch a sunset) and mountains might be a great experience.

Probably too many vegetarian restaurants. Do a search on yelp.

Hope your mom has a nice trip.
