Remember the days when garbage men actually had to do work, rather than rely on the big arm to pick up everything? BTW, has anybody else seen them idle their engines while taking breaks, probably so they can have the AC on, as if their job is labor intensive?

Commercial accounts don't sort. I have a commercial account.

Mr. Lahey and Randy sort mine, but one time I had to do it myself because Mr. Lahey bought all the Rush tickets.

Pretty sure that is an operational best practice for diesel engines.

At least trash day comes only once a week. Gardeners work every day except Sunday and sometimes Sunday too, homeowners who mow their own can and do their mowing every day of the week. I've even seen people mowing when it's nearly dark, or when it's raining. It could be worse here; I share the same gardener with three of my neighbors so get interrupted less but for longer periods. I sometimes think we're wasting our time to have lawns that require so much maintenance and resources (water).

I yanked my lawn out and replaced it with fruit trees. That was a good move, especially at citrus blossom time and fruit harvest time.

I'm yanking out my lawn and replacing it with somewhere out of the state.

I always thought they were that loud so you could hear them from down the street and think, "crap! I haven't put the cans out yet!"

Yeah, that happens all the time and I have to quickly get out of bed and run the containers out into the street and then realize that I'm in my boxers!

Could be worse. At least you're not wearing a thong.
