My husband and I are moving to Hollywood Place from the midwest. Can anyone tell us about it and the surrounding area for shopping/entertainment and public transportation to the flower market, fashion disctrict & food market? THANKS!!!

Is that West Hollywood? Or maybe just north of the West Hollywood border? If it's where I'm thinking (it looked like it was on the 7400 block of Hollywood Blvd, if I have the right place) then the nearest shopping strip will be Sunset. There's a bunch of stuff along there. For getting downtown you'll probably find it fastest to hop on a bus to Hollywood and Highland (they run past there frequently), then transfer to the Red Line subway. Hollywood Boulevard where you'll be is pretty quiet, but things start to pick up in activity level quite a bit once you hit La Brea. That's within walking distance of there, or just a short bus ride. There's a community garden right by there, and a park. (Wattles and Runyon Canyon)
