God awful if the Vikings come here. I see enough ugly purple and yellow combos as is. Good uniform colors, god awful regular clothing colors.

I don't see the Vikings owner completely turning his back on Minnesota. I doubt they are having financial issues since Favre has been there. Sure they suck and they have sucked for about a 50-50 ratio and they don't do squat in the playoffs. However, thats the case for most NFL teams. They have a very loyal fan base.

It would take a long time for them or most NFL teams to be considered a true LA team. This isn't like when the Lakers or Dodgers came to LA way back in the day. This is the age of instant information so we get to see alot more now than ever before. The Vikings have had a TON of press since Favre joined and they have been a NFL darling team since Moss started his career there.

The Jags are a more better fit since even though they are doing decent, they don't have a true identity with their city yet. The other teams I can even picture leaving are the Falcons, Bucs, and Cardinals and thats under a 1% chance. Falcons have a great future in Atlanta. Bucs fans are fickle just like the Bucs. Cardinals...well...they are going to suck and suck hard for the next 3-5 years. However, Arizona loves them...now but it wasn't so long ago people made fun of them like they make fun of the Clippers.

Rodger Lodge\ AM 830-KLAA has a lot of credibility and his comments this morning made it very clear that the Vikings are giving LA serious consideration.

Meh! I'll like them once they don't have a choker as a QB.

I don't think an LA team will have very much support UNTIL it becomes a winning team. I mean, people like me would support them because they are the hometeam, but don't expect the type of audience or fervor yet.

That's the one thing I hate about LA sports: all the bandwagon and fairweather fans. This place has so many of them, that it's sickening.

Bingo, this is what I've been saying. I really do not think LA needs a NFL team. There are plenty of sports team out there people do not care about as is. No need to bring in another so the LA stereotype becomes even more mainstream since the NFL is by far the most popular sport today.

Los Angeles could do far worse with other NFL teams relocating here. And who cares if the Vikings were the "arch enemies" of the Rams; that's ancient history.
In the history of the NFL, the Superbowl was not always all that important.

And anyway, the list of teams that haven't gone to the Superbowl is far shorter than the list of those who have:

1. Detroit Lions
2. Cleveland Browns
3. Houston Texans
4. Jacksonville Jaguars

every team in every sport has fairweather fans. the rams and raiders didn't have a strong fan base because the fans that they did have were short changed by ownership. it is no secret that al davis and georgia whatever were/are two the worst owners in the nfl. how can you expect to draw crowds when you don't spend the money for a quality product. and it's not just la football that suffers this problem, sports teams across the country have the same problem. then the owners complain that they don't have good enough facilities and the next thing you know they have skipped town.

anyways, if the rams and raiders had remained more competitive and were willing to better negotiate a stadium deal one or both still may be here. seriously though, all things considered, i'm glad they left. it may have been a bummer at first having no nfl, but that is certainly better than be played like a puppet by some crummy owners.

first of all they have to get the stadium built before any team is seriously going to commit, then there are about 1/2 dozen teams that are thinking about coming: Let's not put the cart before the horse and let's not think because a team has or hasn't played in a super bowl or won one the trend will continue when they move.

I reject the notion that Los Angeles is just "la la land" only interested in pro sports when the teams are doing well. The Lakers may not be a good example because they do win championships alot and are one among only a few NBA teams that make a big profit. What confuses me is that the LA Clippers also make money yet are a miserable team. Is that because the cheap ass owner, Sterling doesn't pay competitive salaries?
