Hello everyone, I have been working in Burbank for some time now and thought it would be better to move down to the area. While looking for apartments I had no luck with Burbank. I found a sweet apartment in the 91601 zip code, Cahuenga and Magnolia area which is really close to my work though in the North Hollywood zip code and not in Burbank. Was wondering if anyone could tell me how safe this area is, it looks kind of Ghetto but the apartment is beautiful and gated. Drove down there at night, seemed quiet, would love if others here who know the area can give me some input.

The Cahuenga Blvd and Magnolia Blvd intersection is where 3 different neighborhoods within North Hollywood converge. To the North East is Toluca Terrace, to the South East is Toluca Woods and to the West is NoHo Arts District.

Admittedly, this intersection needs a bit of a facelift, but it is quite safe. I used to live only a couple blocks away in an apartment on Blix Street and never had a problem. Having lived in this specific area before, don't base the area solely on how Cahuenga Blvd looks. It has a lot of the old telephone poles that make it look outdated. If you based Toluca Terrace on the surface, you'd wonder why the heck it's a "Toluca" anything. Just go into the community (a block in) and see the people, the tree-lined streets and the homes and you'll know why.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for both your inputs! I know the area needs a face lift, but truth be told, working a couple blocks up in Burbank, I always liked that part of Noho, at night it seems safer than what it used to be. I just never lived there and always nice to hear from residents who know the area well.

One of my best friends used to live in that area in what is now called "Toluca Terrace". That has never been a bad area. It's always been a decent area.
