Hello,

It's my first time posting here. I need to find a place between my husband's workplace in Garden Grove, corner of Beach/ Chapman (Orange County) to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. I'm thinking of Alhambra because I heard it is safe and closed to Asian groceries and stuff. I'm looking at 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment for $1,000 or less. Any other cities in between? Also, how long is commute time from Alhambra to Cedars if I work 7p-730 am 3x/week?

Thank you for any input. I'm unfamiliar with LA and heard traffic is horrible.

if you work the night shift then that is definitely a doable commute. however, alhambra to garden grove is going to miserable unless your husband commutes at odd hours (ie 2am).

I agree with BRinSM. Alhambra to Cedars would be doable, especially for a night commute. To Garden Grove, however, will be a nightmare. It's doable -- I know people who have done similar or worse commutes -- but will wear him down. I don't know the areas (or driving times) in-between well enough to give good alternative recommendations, but you should be able to find something safe and with Asian stores that is more convenient for both of you. That said, I really do like Alhambra. I wouldn't like that commute, though.

He works 2 days/ week in garden grove ( Tuesday and thursday)& 3 days at home. His hours will be 6am-430 pm. He will leave Alhambra at 430 or 5 am. Is it bad traffic? I heard I will be against traffic but I don't know if he will be. I like Alhambra area too. So Alhambra is the best choice for us?

My opinion on traffic to Cedars Sinai is that it would be busy. I wouldn't do 7pm because that means you have to leave around 5:30 to 6:00pm, which means you might be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. I don't know if you like driving though as 1 to 2 hours, 3x a week might be doable.

Yeah, I'm thinking of leaving at 530 pm to be ready for work at 7 pm. For morning (at 730-8am), I hope it's not too bad! I do not like driving :-(
