Also looking for a place that accepts dogs. Thinking a Samoyed or a pug. Does such a place exist in my price range in this area? I have visited the gazettes page but there's no pictures places like apartmentfinder and rent.com don't have hardly any listings except for like the Archstone Long Beach and Bixby Knolls apts. Any advice?
Most of Belmont Shore is older apts. They are not renovated and they are in smaller buildings. The charm of Belmont Shore for locals is that it isn't a pristine, new place. If you want those kind of amenities you will need to look in Downtown LB or around CSULB

Much of LA is older housing stock including Belmont Shores, which BTW is one of the really nicer areas of Los Angeles.

There are some newer places, but you are really limiting your self if thats one of your requirements.

I see what you guys are saying. Well I will look in both areas. I suppose if I found a gem in Belmont Shore I could waylay some of these desires (although I REALLY would like at least a pool and laundry room). Do you guys recommend a drive around and look approach or is there a rental agency I should seek out?

95% of the places are drive around places, but a lot of them are run by local property management cos that do have websites.

Yeah, but the problem with those areas is the parking.

Hey, if you are a cute, single lady and into dogs, perhaps you should give me a jingle when you actually do move to LB! I hardly ever bite and only bark when I am hungry.

Those who mentioned parking are absolutely right. Regardless of where in LB you get a place, make sure you have a secure, allocated parking allocated to you. Especially around Belmont Shores during the holidays or Summer weekends, finding a good parking space on the street would be a miracle.

Cirag's List is usually convenient and helpful but you need to modify the search options accordingly to narrow down the suitable ones:
