Griffin has more value b/c he is significantly younger and is already playing at a very high level. I can't see any reason that the Clippers would even consider that trade, much less offer it - unless there was some sort of collusion with the Lakers. It wouldn't even be a financial move to save money since Kobe makes a lot more than Griffin.

I think Lakers fans are getting a bit jealous, seeing that the Clips may actually be better than the Lakers in a few years.

And to answer the thread question, I'd never deal Blake Griffin for Bryant. Wouldn't make sense under the salary structure of the NBA too.

It's a hypothetical. "never would do" is out. However, like one poster mentioned, even if Blake's talent over the next ten years is greater than Kobe's will be over the next ten years, if Blake doesn't fit - then it may not work.

Many of the true big men of the NBA aren't too durable.

If I was the Lakers GM, I do this in a heartbeat, Kobe is done, his knee is shot, and at best has 2-3 years left. Blake will be around for 10 years or more, and post INSANE numbers.

if I was the Clippers GM, I ask the Lakers GM where he buys his weed, because it must be some good stuff!

So far so good. It's only been less than one year for blake but if he's this good next year - it's a no brainer. Or, he could be another Mitch Kupchak (as a player) blow his knee out and never be the same.

One thing for sure, he's made the clippers very watchable.

I wonder if people would have regretted not making this trade then.

Come on, you can't wonder the what-if in this situation.

I would have made the trade then, in 2011.
