any up and coming areas that are cheap?

Any places in LA that are cheap but fairly safe?

Looking for a one bed for under 700 clams.

I will be attending Cosmetology school and refuse to live or have a roomie.

How about someplace that is cheap, safe, near the beach, and is absolutely loaded with rich, handsome, eligible bachelors?

Not going to happen.

Cheapest studios in an slightly bad area(downtown LA) are going to run $750 or so a month. Cheapest one bedrooms....I know of a tiny place in highland park that goes for $780 a month, but I wouldn't exactly consider it safe.

What about South Central? Not safe, but you could MAYBE get something for that much money.

Otherwise, I'd suggest roomies. I live in a house in Silver Lake and only pay $550. Roomates are where it's at!

STUDIO with Kitchenette and Bathroom

STUDIO IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/apa/2217745631.html - broken link)

Guest House For Rent (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/apa/2217646297.html - broken link)

Your options are gonna be severely limited, given your expectations and search criteria...

Troof, the Whitsett is squarely in an UNSAFE area.

The LAX is very likely unsafe.

The Bristol is ok, provided OP is aware of urban surroundings AND can qualify for the low income tennancy.

Yeah, the Bristol is probably the only one that would pan out...

Any cosmetology schools closer to you now? It might be the better way to go.
