how close are snowy spots to LA? THIS CLOSE!

I'm a snowboarding fanatic and I absolutely love living here. Mt Baldy, Big Bear and Mtn High are small-ish resorts and 1-2 hours away, and if you want a world class resort, the drive up to Mammoth is 5 hours away.

The mountains in this photo of downtown LA are where Mt. Baldy and Mt. Waterman are located. People surf and ski here in the same day, amazing!!

If forecasts for this weekend are correct, maybe the San Fernando Valley!

well technically yes, if you don't mind dodging cars - but I understand you are looking for a dedicated ski/snowboard resort - everyone has told you the best ones already and I concur - Mtm High, Big Bear, and Mammoth! Try those and you won't be dissapointed.

Great pics polican! I either need to get closer to the beach or into the valley's more to see the snow on the mtns - down here by the 5 freeway - too many hills are blocking the view!

Is that from Fontucky...errr Fontana, today?

If so, thats CRAZY...I've never seen the snow that low in the mountains before, and I've lived in LA all my life(I'm late 30's).

Forecast for Sunday is snow in Griffith Park...THATS JUST NUTS!

Naw, that was last year here in Fontucky. If the latest projections prove to be correct, tomorrow will duplicate that scene. Maybe exceed it.

I hear it might snow in Hollywood tomorrow! Man, I hope Charlie Sheen doesn't try to snort it!
