i am thinking about moving to LA, but i was wondering what the nearest vacation spot is for skiing and snowboarding. would i have to drive all the way to tahoe, or is there some place closer?

Many snow resorts to choose from. Mammoth is by far the best and within 6 hours drive. Big Bear and Mt. Baldy are only 90 minutes away.

Big Bear's the largest nearby, and Wrightwood also. 3 hour drive max, depending on where you are in LA, as little as a 60-75 minute drive.

Mt Waterman is closer, but limited.

I would think Wrightwood (Mt High Ski Resort) is the closest.

you can go to mountain high it about 2 hours drive

Practically every year it snows inside the City of Los Angeles, in the Porter Ranch neighborhood.
