Hi, Im transferring to Cal State LA n my fiance is going to the Musicians institute in hollywood. We are trying to find a place that will be reasonably close for both of our schools and were poor college students so we need it under 1100$. Heres some of the ones Im looking at. Id appreciate it if you could let me know if the areas are safe or not. Or feel free to recommend just please stay in our price range.

Thanks

the one on bereno must be haunted. i swear, they can't keep people in there. i have been seeing it off and on on craigslist for the last 3 years. that to me is a red flag. check out yelp for reviews on different apt. complexes.

The only fairly safe area is the apartment on Whitley dr in hollywood. Everything else is in dangerous parts of town. Now, that shouldn't deter you and it's not like you're going to get killed living there. Plenty of people live there and nothing happens. But you should know they are run down areas and to be careful.

IT Scares me. Im used to living in a nice neighborhood with no violence/ crime whatsoever (knock on wood) plus my fiance will be commuting alot so there will be times I will be alone. Anywys thanks for the advice. We actually love the one on whitley dr...I was jus a lil skeptical because of the price. Is there anywhere that you would reccommend?

not gonna sugarcoat it, that's not a nice area you're looking at. besides whitley of course.

I don't know. maybe try hollywood to the east. not like way east, more like around la brea or vine. near sunset or fountain or santa monica or melrose. reasonable price and reasonable safety
