Looking to buy a affordable condo that is near W. Hollywood. I can't afford W. Hollywood but, I just landed a job in that area and this will also be my place to play at night. What area's would you suggest to buy a 2 bed condo for under 200k? My boss told me That N. Hollywood is up and coming and Sherman Oaks is a decent location that I may still be able to find a affordable 2 bed condo..any other locations that you may suggest to me would be appreciated.

nothing that close to weho. maybe north hollywood, but that's not so close. why not just rent in weho. if you;re going to "play" here at night, your taxi bills will add up (or else risk driving and a DUI)

I don't want to rent I want to own. Why give a landlord my money when I can own my own place and rent out a bedroom if I need extra cash.

On mapquest Weho and Noho look close. 16 min and only 8.62 miles does not seem far at all.

Taxi whether I live in We or No Hollywood a taxi will be needed I doubt walking the streets late at night when the clubs close is desirable for anyone

fact if I can find a place for 150k that would be even better for my budget. I can spend the additional 50k on repairs and furnishings.

because owning is not always doable in LA, especially with your budget. well, live in north hollywood then.

Weho to noho will never be 16 minutes believe me. maybe 20-25 if there's no traffic. and during the day (and even parts of the night), there will be traffic between the two areas.

THANKS ANYWAYS..............I was looking on California moves. I noticed a few options in my budget in Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Burbank, No Hollywood, Valley Village, to name a few. I am sure I will find SOMETHING.

My question again is are there any other locations where I CAN BUY NOT RENT BUY a 2 bed condo under 200k near West Hollywood where I just landed a job and will be hanging out socially as well?

Not unless you are willing to live in a crummy area.

Anything that at the moment is that low priced is going to have huge HOA or assessments attached.

So the answer is absolutely no. YOU cannot buy a decent 2bd condo near West Hollywood.

[mod cut-- off topic] You are naive to say the least....about prices, neighborhood, and why you would be so overly desperate to purchase without having any real sort of stated reason as to doing so.

For more...read my posts here:

I am far from NAIVE! If you READ my post you will see that, I am not overly desperate to purchase without having any real sort of stated reason for doing so. BTW it states. CLEARLY I was offered a job in West Hollywood.

and there are properties avail in my price range in areas near W.H with low HOA's. I just heard back from 2 Brokers that there are not a lot but there are some.
