Hey everyone.

I've never been to California but will be moving to Glendale in a few weeks and will be working in downtown LA. I won't have a car right away, so I am wondering what is the best way to get to-and-from on public transportation.

I've read that the bus can take 2 hours each way, is that true? Also, what about trains? I really don't want to spend 2 hours getting somewhere that could take me 25m if I had a car. What do you all think is the best way?

Here are the address just to give you more info:

-1136 N Columbus Ave, Glendale, CA 91206

and i will be working near Senai Medical Center...

thanks for your help!

i haven't heard of senai medical center and a google search pulls up nothing either. you probably mean cedars-sinai, which is actually located in the central part of the city near beverly hills, not downtown. if this is indeed the case, living in glendale would be unwise.

It's also unwise to post your address on a public forum.

Yeah, I meant cedars-sinai, sorry about that.... why would it be unwise to live in glendale? How would i get to that area from there?

And I tried to edit the address out but I can't figure out how to...

16 miles in distance, and far from a freeway.

Cedars-Sinai is no where near downtown LA. There are no trains that go to near Cedars-Sinai.

Bus will have to do but it won't be fun. You def need a car ASAP and you are probably looking at a 45min-1hr commute during rush hour.

Better living location would be West Hollywood.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help everyone.

I am thinking about finding a place closer now after hearing all of this. If I lived more towards West Hollywood are there quicker ways to get to the Beverly Hills area by public transit? I wouldn't mind riding a bus if it was for a shorter time...

I would hazard a strong guess that its way easier to take a bus from WeHo. The street that Cedars is on is a major Bl which runs directly through WeHo.

Seriously, just google it on a map. You'll see the difference. 16 miles vs like maybe 2 miles.

cedars sinai takes up mulitple blocks (between 3rd and Beverly) just off la cienega, a major street in LA. you'll have plenty of bus options if you live near any of those streets.

If the edit button is no longer available, post a new reply on this thread and ask a moderator to edit out your address.

There's no good way to get from Glendale to Cedars-Sinai. As they used to say on some old radio show: You can't get there from here.
