Wildlife LA
Our old home in LA (Burbank) had tree squirrels, oppossums, pocket mice, lizards, and tons of birds. Our new home (Glendale) has none of the above.
We totally miss the tree squirrels!!!!!! They were a constant source of amusement.
Has anyone else moved and missed all the wildlife? I realize that it varies from neighborhood to neighborhood -- but we sure would like to find a neighborhood with squirrels again!!

I get tons of those and more, like wild parrots, coyotes and raccoons at my house in La Canada, so it's surprising that you don't see any animals in Glendale which is even closer than Burbank.
btw, those parrots are ****ing annoying.

A coyote just ate one of my cats. I see tons of tree squirrels, skunks (love those guys!) and possums.

We lived in the San Fernando Valley up until a few months ago and we had racoons, possums, squirrels, wild parrots, an occasional coyote, owls, lizards, and tons of small birds! We were in the middle of the city but each home had acre lots so maybe that was the attraction. If you put food out many will come. But remember to be careful what kinds of food you leave out because you may also get some unwanted animals as well. Hang the bird feeders and plant a fruit tree or two. We had black walnut trees and there were plenty of squirrels. The squirrels also like palms to have their nests in.

Westwood has some raccoons. They seems very tame, and docile, but I only take pictures of them. Wildlife is a source of all kinds of disease, otherwise you could probably pet them).
I have also seen a fox one time in W.LA.

We live in Thousand Oaks and have quite a bit of wildlife in our yard. We have a Hawk that lives in our huge pine tree, we have ground squirrels, tree squirrels, more damn bunnies than anyone ever needs to see, lizards, an occasional owl, a couple coyotes hunt on the hill behind our house, and tons of birds of all kinds.
Our two dogs go nuts trying to catch all these wild critters ...

Don't forget deer. Thousand Oaks has more deer than you can shake a stick at. Get up before sunrise and you'll see them everywhere drinking water off people's lawns. Many 'possum and raccoons as well. Haven't seen them in years but there used to be some wild peacocks leftover from the Jungleland days. We have one pair of humming birds that nest in a tree in our backyard every year. They can be quite feisty when there are people on the patio. There's also a flock of turkey vultures in the area though they tend to roost down by the freeway.

I've seen those turkey vultures! Kind of scary looking creatures
We dont get the deer, possums, or raccoons in our neighborhood. However, when we use to live in Wildwood (area of Thousand Oaks) we had rattle snakes, a mtn lion, coyotes galore, and lots of possums.
I like seeing all the wildlife ..
