Anyone read this over and over here?

It has to be tough to get a job not even physically being in that location...especially somewhere like LA. Phone interviews can only take you so far in certain situations.

Unless your company is moving you to LA - don't even bother. That's really overdone here. Just wanted to point it out.

if you have a little mone y you can do alright by opening a starting business. the main key is consistancy. like a snack shop in downtown for example. you got thousands of people getting off for lunch at one time, dont got time to eat at a resturant, dont wanna stand in line for 15 mins in a mc donalds line. you will adverage 50 custormers a day if not more. thats 2 dollars a cup of joe, 100 a day, 3k a month, starting. great thing bout la is population, youre bound to get cliental

Yeah, because starting up a food service business is cheap.

you realize how hard and expensive it is to start a business, even a fast food one.

as for the OP, yeah either have a job lined up, or significant savings (that you may lose), or family support

Just need a stand? i think you may be glossing over a few things...like licenses, contracts, and a wee bit of red tape.

But yes, you can go anywhere with a savings and family support, because you can always go back if it doesn't work out.

The projected trend is that we'll become a nation of entrepreneurs, each selling to others items imported from China. We won't generate any wealth of our own; we'll just trade with each other.

It's still sort of amazing how many people live there...even with this "impossible" idea of making it there.

I wont' even bother getting into details except to say you have no idea what you're talking about (though, do you really think those snack shops all over LA are making it rich?
