Now, is that also a consequence of global warming??

If there is global warming in Miami - I WILL agree that it is human caused - every 10 years or so the citizens of Liberty city try to burn their neighborhood down!

Also those average temps reported in almanacs are climatic data that are recorded for a least 50 years. It's always normal to have several years that fluctuate from this average.

Cold is all relative though. I personally do not find LA to be "cold" in the weather sense. I don't know for sure what the average highs for this time of year are. But it is not at all unusual to see temperatures hovering over 80 like I experienced yesterday. It was really warm!

Yeah, I'm with sav858 -- where were you in January?! You guys say we had a "cold, rainy winter," what, short term memory only here? February sucked, it's true, and it was unusually cold and rainy many days. Not a nice 4-5 weeks there until this past week. That being said, January was one of the BEST Januarys on record for Los Angeles! I have talked to people who lived here since the '70s and they couldn't remember such a nice, warm January. It was gorgeous!

There are a lot of things I will complain about when it comes to L.A. but not the weather. This is some of the best weather you can find anywhere in the nation. Sure, it gets cold at night in the winter, so does everywhere basically! Even Cabo San Lucas, Mexico has low temperatures in the upper 50s during the winter, not exactly blisteringly warm and that is 1,000 miles South.

Our winter weather in L.A. may not be "great" but it's pretty darn good. I come from Portland, OR where you will be lucky to see weeks in a row of nothing but rain and highs of 50. That's if you're lucky of course. If not you're looking at snow and highs around 35, haha.

Only part of January was nice. The first half, IIRC.

In August and September, you'll be dying for this cool- not cold- weather.

I personally think that most of the CA coast has perfect winters because the temps dip low enough to give us a break from the hot months but not low enough to make us miserable.

Then you're not remembering correctly. It was nice up until the last week of January at the very most. And that is to be expected, it's winter. That still puts it well above the average January. It was beautiful!

Even February wasn't terrible it just was pretty bad by L.A. standards.
