Well, you can do underwater basket weaving and live on Catalina Island. How's that sound?

How about Malibu on the beach. 27740 PACIFIC COAST Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265 | MLS# 11-515027

As for 'what to do', now THAT you may just have to provide a clue on what it is you like to do.

I can reccomend a few areas of LA that I think you might like and has a significant african-american population.

1. Ladera Heights
2. Baldwin Hills
3. Long Beach
4. Pasadena
5. Culver City

Honestly, more info is needed. What's your budget like? What do do you need in an area? What are your interests? Do you know where you'll be working?

I'd love to give you some advice, but I don't know anything about you or what you're looking for.

But here's one thing I can mention, if you are a single Black female looking for a relationship or GASP marriage, you may have a haaaaaaard time. I know whereof I speak.

Gurrrl! I think you can say that for all girls in LA. Friggin' men in LA have to be the worst pieces of **** I've ever run across. One of the reasons I moved back to New York. Although the guys I met in San Francisco were really nice, just that SF is so expensive to live.

Seriously, most of Culver City is primarily white. i think Allen must have Fox Hills mall confused with Culver City.
