That's funny. One of my co-workers and his son were making their way through the Bronx to get to a Yankee-Red Sox game, wearing their Red Sox jersies. They got stopped by NYPD officers, who convinced them to take the jersies off, for their own safety.

I doubt that the two thugs who attacked that guy at Dodger Stadium did so because they were such big Dodger fans. People like that don't need much of an excuse to cause trouble.

Meanwhile, I continue to hear a racist angle creeping into the conversation about this issue. A little on this board, but very pronounced in the LAT blogs. The capper was yesterday, when KFI morons John and Ken went off on one of their typical racist rants, dragging "illegal aliens" in this incident. I knew I smelled a rat. They just confirmed it for me.

Can we agree on a few stipulations?

- A thug is a thug. They come in all colors.
- The actions of these suspects do not reflect on Hispanics
- The actions of these suspects do not reflect on Dodger fans in general, or their huge, historic Hispanic fan base.

I hate to see a tragic incident like this being exploited for political reasons by the usual suspects.

Now, the knucklehead "Raider" types from a certain "segment" of Los Angeles has just about TOTALLY ruined my once magical Dodger Stadium experience. Thank you Frank McCourt and thank you William Bratton for stepping in and hopefully rid the greatest ballpark in MLB of the cholo gangster idiots who ruin it for all.
AMEN! I certainly remember the magic back in the 70s, 80s, and most of the 90s when I went to Dodger Stadium.

Hopefully they'll catch and prosecute those two sewer rats to the fullest extent of the law!

Are we pursuing a "Kill 'em All and let God sort 'em out" sort of ideology here? Maybe we ought not lower ourselves to the level of the thugs we wish to prosecute.

I'm simply saying let justice be done!
