Default Beach areas on the cheaper side

I live in Long Beach and there are great $1000/mo places in Belmont Shores that are within a block of the beach. I love beach activities (excluding surfing) and am considering moving to Belmont Shore. Are there any other comparable places I should look?

Do you want to live next to a beach with WI-FI? Do they even have that? Somebody should do that if they don't already have that. That would be like totally cool, and then if you could even float out on a raft a ways and you've got your waterproof notebook and you can use the internet and stuff. And then if you're in a rip current you can IM people and say, "Help, I'm in a rip current."

Venice Beach. Though I am not a fan of VB too much, some people love it.

It has always been amazing how high the property values are in Belmont and around 2nd street but how reasonable the rentals are.

Venice is not cheap anymore, far from it.

"Beach areas on the cheaper side in L.A. County" no longer exist.

Long Beach definitely is one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest. One thing you may consider is a houseboat rental. Should be cheaper, but obviously has downsides

Is 1,000 your budget? With a little luck you can get a 1/1 in Ocean Park Santa Monica for about 1,300/mo.

You can get an older studio or one bedroom within 3-4 blocks from the beach in Huntington Beach and even in Seal Beach.

In Ocean Park? Probably not. But in that price range Venice is doable. It would be an older, rundown unit (probably with no parking, which is a PITA in Venice) but it could definitely be found.
