We're interested in moving to Redondo Beach but don't know much about the neighborhoods and which are best, safest and most walkable. We're looking for either an affordable house, condo or townhome that gives us more for our money than buying in LA proper. Any advice?

redondo beach is not a cheap city to live in, probably more expensive than most of LA proper to be honest. the walkable areas are near the coast, which are the most expensive areas. you may also consider torrance, even though it's not much cheaper there either.
