Feel kind of bad that LA is losing its black population. I have a feeling if it keeps on going, there would be more discrimination against blacks in the city.

Let me clarify those number a little bit. The Census considers Hispanic/Latino to be a separate category from race. Most Latinos are either white Latinos if they consider themselves to be European, or fall into the 'other' race category if they don't consider themselves white.

(These numbers are for the city of LA. Not the greater area.)

So, the numbers again are
Whites: 1,888,158, of which 1,086,908 are not Latino and 801,250 are Latino
Black: 365,118, of which 347,380 are not Latino and 17,738 are Latino
Asian: 426,959, of which 420,212 are not Latino and 6,747 are Latino
Other: 902,959, of which 12,057 are not Latino and 890,902 are Latino.

So really 28% of the population are white non-Latino, 10% black non-Latino, 11% Asian.

If you compare to the 2000 census, you get
White: 1,734,036. 1,099,188 non-Latino. 634,848 Latino
Black: 415,195. 401,986 non-Latino. 13,209 Latino
Asian: 369,254. 364,850 non-Latino, 4,404 Latino
Other: 949,720. 9,054 non-Latino, 940,656 Latino

So really in the last 10 years, the number of white non-latinos is pretty much the same. Black is down 50,000 people. Asian is up 50,000 people. And Latino of all races is up 119,000 people.
