Default Favorite Beaches

What are your two favorite LA beaches, and why?

El Porto is my favorite. Long Beach is my second favorite because it's warmer than most other LA beaches and it's great for a relaxing time since there aren't big waves.

Zuma. Not the best surfing, beach break. Great memories. Relatively clean. Great crowds.

I was just there two weeks ago. The LA Sheriffs are still on those little ATVs riding around, still looking for me drinking beer on the beach since 1981.

That's a tough decision because many are really good beaches, but not Long Beach [sorry jessemh431 but if you want warm water go to Huntington or San Clemente. No waves & polluted water in Long Beach.

Also, Laguna has some incredible coves. I generally go to Santa Monica up around Pacific Palisades for parking & less crowded conditions. Venice is fun for people watching or bike rides.

OK....let's not forget that Newport Beach and Laguna Beach are not "LA" beaches. As a 4th generation native of Orange County, I would have to say my favorite beaches are not listed here......and I ain't telling how to find them!!! lol.........

You could also buy a pair of Barnoculars or a Camera case with a liquid lens. If you are a techi Apple sells a case to keep your Techila. All kinds of ways to have fun on the beach.

I prefer a beach with nice sets. Sets of waves, sets of suns, and sets stashed in bikini tops. The bikini sets that fall out are particularly of interest.

Although I love Malibu and Santa Monica is fun to hang out with, I have few beaches that I don't like. I prefer the beaches in Ventura and Santa Barbara county because of the view of the Channel Islands.

Other:

Seal Beach has 2 different beaches on either side of the pier(one good for wading and playing around and one better for body boarding). Also very family friendly.

Bolsa Chica State Beach is my alltime favorite. Firepits onsite, they charge for parking(keeps the riffraff out), and excellent bodyboarding.

I guess that would work. I remember those wrapper things that you'd wrap around a beer can to make it look like Orange Crush.

We used to pour five beers into two liter bottles and add two drops of green, blue, and red food coloring and bring the bottles of "pepsi" into Dodger Stadium.

I have small children so I love the beaches and bays in Long Beach. Mother's Beach, Alamitos Bay, etc are great for playing in the sand and splashing in the water. The views of the waterfront houses and mountains in the background make for great scenery as well. Plus there is kayaking and Naples Island did invent the Sabot.

Contrary to one of the above posts, the polluted waters in Long Beach are west of the pier. East of the pier and the beaches I mention above receive good water quality grades.

For surfing, etc. Long Beach is obviously not the place.
