This is patently false:

I agree! What kind of New Yorker complains about that? If you can survive in NYC then you can definitely survive in LA and not have those things bother you to start a thread about it. What part of New York City is this weakling from? Probably from upstate New York but trying to claim NYC.

Some 14-year old had too much time in the departure lounge.

Levels of pollution are higher in the hills actually, so those who live in the hills will have their health/looks destroyed faster.

ps: I have to say that there's plenty of this attitude everywhere in LA, including from physicians. I came to a big name physician in Bev Hills for a small procedure I have to have done once in a while after a car accident... as soon as he figured out the sales pitch for expensive stupid surgeries I don't need doesn't work for me, he loses interest immediately and basically doesn't even want to talk anymore--for the same money as I paid for his service in LA/beverly hills, I had *much* more extensive consultation in San Francisco, and much warmer attitude. Couldn't even get a glass of clean, bottled or filtered water in his expensive Beverly Hills office--only tap water! While was offered great selection of organic teas in SF surgeon's office.

The same with gyms--in SF, I got so much attentive, helpful service from 24 hour fitness trainers, all for free. In LA, 24 fitness is a major DUMP with a**hole trainers, in every location, pretty much. Rude employees that are only interested in selling expensive services. All of this is due to over-crowdedness of the city... Or, say, if you get lost in LA and ask for help at gas station--people try to sell you the map--in other places, people will often offer to take a look at the map or atlas for free to help you.

When I lived in LA, I tried to stick inside my immigrant community when it came to many things (except partying)--this had shielded me from the coldness of this city, to a degree.... but even my community was very much affected by these attitudes.
