I'm currently in the Hollywood area (S Cochran Ave) and need to get down to Costa Mesa in Orange County. Can someone please suggest a mode of public transportation that would be cheapest / easiest?? Thanks!

You get to ride the Metrolink! They are very nice double decker trains. I don't know where on S. Cochran you are, I'll just assume somewhere near Wilshire.
Board one of the Metro Rapid buses (the red catepillar looking ones) going east on Wilshire and get off at Wilshire/Western. Take the Metro Red Line (the subway if you've never ridden it) to the end of the line, Union Station. You will then board the Metrolink and it will take you to Costa Mesa. Very easy. There are machines to sell Metrolink tickets in Union Station just as you buy them in the Metro Rail stations. metro.net | Transit Services and Information for Los Angeles County Metrolink :: Welcome If you're far from Wilshire, use the above mta.net link and put in your address as the starting place and Union Station as the destination. |
