20th and Redondo in LA - what neighborhood is this?

20th and Redondo Blvd is Windsor Park in LA's Mid City area plenty of Tudor, Spanish Colonial, Cape Cod and Federal style homes. It is a middle class area. Drawback (as well an advantage) is the Santa Monica Fwy I-10.
Shopping is nearby in Beverlywood(Beverly Center and The Beverly Connection), LA Farmer Market and The Grove mall in the Fairfax District, Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.
Schools If you can get you child into Fairfax or Alexander Hamilton HS thats great.
Restaurants are on La Cienega, Robertson, Fairfax, Pico and San Vicente,
Popular entertainment venues are near by in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Silver Lake, and Downtown LA.

that sounds pretty good. when i look on the LAPD crime maps it looks like in the immediate area there isn't much crime but below the 10 doesn't look too safe. would you say that this neighborhood is relatively safe for a young woman to live?

it's a modest part of town, mostly black and (increasingly) hispanic, with nothing in particular to recommend it. the residential streets are pretty quiet, but redondo is a commonly used by those wishing to avoid the congestion on la brea so expect lots of traffic during rush hour. for safety concerns, call LAPD, Wilshire Division, which is located nearby on Venice Blvd.
if you have kids, the local schools won't be great, and will probably be horrible.

is it a secured building, with on-site parking? i would be a bit concerned about parking on the street and walking to my apartment at night-- at least until i got to know the neighbors.
