I'm a senior in high school and after I graduate I plan on getting my associates in dental hygiene. Which is the best college in the county to do this? And will it be difficult finding a job in this field in LA?

Cerritos College has a noted dental hygiene program. They work on patients at LA County Department of Health Services clinics as part of the program. The Cerritos students have always done a good job, knowledgeable when I ask questions and are supervised by instructors. I didn't know until chatting withe one that Cerritos has a program known nationally.

There may be other note worthy community colleges with well regarded programs, but Cerriots is a start.

You beat me to the punch. I went to school at Cerritos College (but for a different field of study) and can vouch for their dental hygiene program. They are worth looking into.

Here's the school's website for more information:

Hands down, PCC (Pasadena City College). I went there for dental hygiene and ended up changing my major, but it's super competitive and a great program. My friend is a hygienist and her hours have been cut back due to the economy, but when it starts to pick up (hopefully by the time you are out of school), it should be easy to find a job. It's a wonderful career and I regret changing my major.

PCC in general has pretty goof programs. I know the nursing program was noted as exceptional, but that was a few decades ago. I don't know if that is still the case.
