Default Good place to live if you wanna job hop

I'm planning to stay in the LA area but switch jobs frequently in the coming few years. The following cities are where the vast majority of jobs in my field are located:

1) Downtown LA
2) Irvine and Newport Beach area
3) Pasadena
4) Santa Monica

Is there any city that's less than 1 hour away on average from each of the above cities in rush hour traffic?

If you are planning on renting, why not just move for each job change?

Because it might involve breaking leases and constantly moving can be a trek.

He better have better reasons than those.

The amount of time he would save by living ten minutes from work versus one hour from work ( = two hours per day) over the course of the year would probably be worth breaking a lease.

Also, he could time the moves to not break the leases.

I'm assuming the original poster doesn't have a 3000 square foot house worth of belongings to have to move from place to place.

Breaking leases can be expensive so if the OP does decide to relocate each time he/she job hops, he should try to wait until the lease is up or consider short-term leases/month to month...

How about downtown? Assuming you work during the day, you'll be going the "easy" direction with each commute. Irvine and Newport Beach would still be just under an hour. If you go any closer to Irvine, though, you'll have to go toward downtown to get to your other locations.
