The LA basin has the worlds best weather for a reason.

I have no idea how people live in the Valleys and Deserts and deal with that heat.

Generally the temps in the L.A. area peak in late August and early September. Last year was an exceptionally cool year. I live in southern L.A. county, near Long beach and the O.C. border, and I don't think the temps got much higher than 80 all summer until the end of September when we hit 115. This year has seemed pretty normal to me, so there is still plenty of time for the weather to heat up.
