Default Little Central America

Has "little Central America" been officially branded as such by a city Mayor?

i don't think so, but i doubt 'little' would be an appropriate use of the word if there were a 'little central america' neighborhood.

Nah. I've only heard it referred to as Pico-Union.

Yeah, I've only heard it referenced as Pico-Union or Westlake/MacArthur Park area.

But the geography of Los Angeles does turn the world upside down with El Salvador/Guatemala right next door to Korea (Koreatown).

The only designated district with a distinctly Latino theme that I can think of is "Olvera Street" which is the birthplace of LA (so it has a distinctly Mexican/Spanish colonial theme).

All the other ethnic districts with "official" city names appear to be non-latin: Thai Town, Koreatown, Chinatown, Little Armenia, Little Ethiopia, Little Tokyo, Historic Fillipinotown, etc.

The city is so heavily Latino perhaps there is no need for such designations since Latinos are the plurality these days. Granted there is great variety within that umbrella term.
