Anyone have a recommedation for the best beach in Malibu?

Any info on Topanga State Beach, Las Tunas, or Zuma?

Paradise Cove is way too expensive to park and too many tourists and obnoxious Hollywood scene types.

Zuma will do. Free parking on PCH and 5 miles of big beach with wave action to suit your sport..

I'm sorry to say Zuma is a sub par beach for the socal coastline. Having grown up in the area and visiting the beaches almost daily your best bet is Leo Carillo just north of Zuma. If you like huge crowds, no scenic views, and just sand and water, Zuma is your best bet!

He doesnt say what he is looking for, only that he wants to avoid tourists, hollywood types, and prefers cheap parking...Zuma offers the full package...big beach for sunbathing, waves for surfing, bodyboarding, skimboarding, swimming etc. showers, and free parking. He can also park on the south end..for free...and look at the rock..

Leo is nice too if he is cool with the rocks, the lack of waves, and the lineup if there are waves, the walk down pch. etc..

Thanks for the tips! I don't surf. I just go for the beach to find the ladies haha. Paradise Cove is so expensive to park, not worth it.

Venice and SM are so crowded though. It's almost a hassle to go there.

Well I would suggest you try a shopping mall then or take the bus to the beach.

Zuma Beach is NOT a sub-par beach. As a package deal, I think Zuma and Pt Dume (aka, Westward Beach) are among the TOP beaches in LA County (based on beauty, cleanliness, etc.).

Plenty of scenic views at Zuma...Pt. Dume frames the Pacific and the Santa Monicas form a gorgeous back drop.

Complaining about too many people at the beach in LA County is like complaining about getting sand in your toes while at the beach.

But even in the middle of summer if you go to Zuma/Pt. Dume during the week (Mon to Fri) it can feel very calm and tranquil. Not bad at all.
