still, I just don't understand why do the Clippers still exist when L.A. is spoiled enough by the Lakers already, I thought L.A. only likes winners

The McCourts cut back on security, especially after 2008, which made the likelihood of something like what happened much greater. Before the McCourts were involved there was no problem at all. I've never felt unsafe at Dodger Stadium. But the McCourts' actions were as if they were asking for violence to happen. They were a symptom of bad management.

Depends on where you sit and what you wear. I used to only sit in these great box seats and had a good time. Usually saw a few idiots in the parking lot and that was about it. A few of the last games, I didnt have season tickets and went 2nd level etc..cheaper seats. The ridicule that I saw being given and tolerated was embarrassing.

I also don't approve of stuffing a drink cup with ice ketchup etc and flinging it at a guy wearing the visiting teams cap... I was sitting right in front of the guy who did it and almost pointed him out to the target. Or hearing some drunk slob, or shaved head tuff guy using foul language with kids around.

I dont even want to begin discussing what happens at the Laker Games and certain clipper games if you cheer for an opposing team or wear their colors. That's beyond a joke and Personally I dont even like the Lakers anymore and will not attend or even bother watching their games.

Beyond the rival team/harrassing issue. It's pretty clear that certain sections have a pretty high % of low intelligence beings.

I see the consequences of what un-educated, immoral, and in some cases certain illegal individuals in this society are creating and their effects on our economy and quality of life. I am becoming quite a bit more vocal about it especially when someone is looking to "take" and scam the country. That includes Attorney's who represent these individuals.

And I am not from the Bay Area.

Maybe I'm more of a "mind my own business" type guy than you are. Don't mess with anyone, don't get messed with. What you saw as harassment and boorish behavior I may have seen as no big deal since I never felt personally threatened. Perceptions can differ.

If you do not like the Lakers you have no place being in Los Angeles. Go cheer for the Warriors. What you're saying sounds like what I heard all the time when I was living in the Bay Area. Not that the Bay Area is immune from such nonsense. I think you'd fit in better there.

CA has experienced educational and social decay for years. This is why if I had children I would never put them into LAUSD or similar districts like Pasadena or Inglewood, because schools in those districts are just prep schools for prison. Our society's become way too extreme - you have gang bangers and bros on one hand and emo wusses on the other.

As for those who would "take and scam the country", look no further than the California State Legislature, the US Congress, and every level of local government in Los Angeles city and county. (The independent cities vary - while most have some sort of insider networks, some work better than others.) It's the wealthy people in positions of power who live in 90049 who make the gangbangers, bros, assorted sports hooligans, illegals, etc. possible. Not everyone in Brentwood is to blame, but a good proportion are considering how much power in L.A. is based there.

Well, I'm certainly not going to live in another city because I dislike the Lakers organization.

And I dont see how wealthy individuals in 90049 and the like have any control of the development and plight of an immigrant or gangbanger.....unless you want them to subsidize the poor. How far do you want to go with that?
Free car and house for everyone who crosses the border along with 100k per year job, free medical and honor?
should we just ask everyone to pitch in all their income into a big pot and split it? : ) I can hardly stand attending
ball games anymore...

I would not send my kids to most LAUSD schools either. However, in my neighborhoods, there are acceptable public schools available which is where they would go. I am however disturbed that more area residents do not utilize public education and "fill" the neighbohood schools with their own kids. Maybe LAUSD should plan field trips to Dodger Stadium for some "Development Studies"

I was going to post a long drawn out reply, but its too much for this forum.

That's NOT what I was urging nor have I ever supported that. I'm not a socialist (and those measures are extreme to the point of carictature).

I just don't like how the barriers and divides in L.A. have gotten so extreme.

Someone living in 90049, if they keep their kids out of LAUSD schools, is essentially sheltered and disconnected from what other Angelenos have to face and deal with. There's a homeless problem but nothing like Venice's, for example. Let's see, they're surrounded by Santa Monica which is pretty much the same except for better services (including better schools, cops, and other services), Pacific Palisades (similar to SM except for being dependent on LA services) 90024 which is pretty similar, and 90025 which is a little more gritty but is still nice and safe. LAPD officers have even told me about how the department has had a policy of "containment" of problems in Venice to keep them from spreading to places like Brentwood and the Palisades.

Many individuals in 90049 have power and influence and helped create, or continue to shape, what L.A. has turned into. If you don't see the connection, you need to look around more. The people who own big houses in Brentwood are the people who hire illegals and thus create the demand fueling more illegal immigration. Many 90049 residents COULD have changed things but didn't. Gangs grew as the result of failed institutions, and ISTM that there are more 90049 residents that could have done something than let's say 90028, 90042, or 90032 residents (let alone 90059) Obviously not everyone in 90049 is at fault. But you must admit that some residents there created an environment in which gangbangers and illegals etc. can flourish. You yourself said you dislike the attorneys who defend said individuals - many of them live in 90049.
